Houston Texans receiver puts nasty route on defender during face-off

Although it took three years to get there, John Metchie III has established himself as one of the Houston Texans’ top receivers. On Day 10 of training camp at the Houston Methodist Training Center, Metchie showed why he could be one of the team’s most explosive receivers next season.

In a one-on-one game at the Houston Methodist Training Center, Metchie’s dribble move over rookie defender Calen Bullock showed why the former Alabama prospect could have a career year in 2024.

A healthy Metchie will add to the Texans’ stellar receiving unit, which will include Stefon Diggs and two receivers who stood out during Houston’s 10-7 season in 2023: Nico Collins and Tank Dell.

He gave a small glimpse of his talents in the first week of training camp. His play is proof that the Texans enter the 2024 season with arguably the best receiving core in the league, ready to be essential to a potential championship run. Last season, Metchie finished his first full year with 158 yards on 16 receptions.
