Man arrested for arson in five Nevada County fires

(FOX40.COM) — A Nevada County man was arrested Monday in connection with several roadside fires, according to the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office and CAL FIRE.

The first fire was discovered around 9:14 a.m. in the Penn Valley area, and four more fires were reported shortly thereafter.

CAL FIRE, along with several other fire departments, helped contain and extinguish the five fires.

The 43-year-old Penn Valley man was booked into the Nevada County Jail and faces five counts of arson.
