Penguins hopefuls gear up; Buffalo tournament announced

The Pittsburgh Penguins are scheduled to play three games at Buffalo’s annual prospects tournament in September. The Sabres announced the schedule Tuesday.

Penguins prospects will face youngsters from Boston, Ottawa and Buffalo in the tournament, which runs from Friday, Sept. 13 through Monday, Sept. 16. Games will be played at the KeyBank Arena at LECOM Harborcenter.

As PHN reported, the Penguins have a solid pool of promising players, several of whom will likely be brought to Buffalo. Roster announcements will be made at a later date.

The Penguins are one of six teams that will send prospects to the tournament, with each team playing three games. Tickets are available here.

Friday September 13th

  • Boston vs. Pittsburgh, 12 p.m.
  • New Jersey vs. Ottawa, 3:30 p.m.
  • Columbus vs. Buffalo, 7 p.m.

Saturday September 14

  • Pittsburgh vs. Ottawa, 12 p.m.
  • Columbus vs. Boston, 3:30 p.m.
  • New Jersey vs. Buffalo, 7 p.m.

Monday September 16

  • Boston vs. New Jersey, 10 a.m.
  • Ottawa vs. Columbus, 1:30 p.m.
  • Pittsburgh vs. Buffalo, 5 p.m.
