Washoe County Jail inmate dies after ‘medical incident’; investigation underway | News

A Washoe County Jail inmate died Monday evening as a result of a “medical incident.”

According to lawmakers, the unidentified inmate died after being taken to a nearby hospital.

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office detectives and the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct the official death investigation.

While the investigation is still ongoing, officials say there is currently no evidence of self-harm, foul play or criminal activity.
