Child on life support after fentanyl overdose, man arrested for criminal abuse

LEXINGTON, Kentucky (LEX 18) – A 30-year-old man was recently arrested on criminal abuse charges after an indictment listed that he allegedly abused a child 12 years of age or younger and that the child was currently on life support following a “fentanyl overdose.”

The indictment states that Terry J. Alexander was arrested by Lexington police and charged with “criminal abuse of a child 12 years of age or under” after allegedly abusing a child while in his care.

The complaint further stated that the child “suffered physical injury from a fentanyl overdose at the suspect’s residence.” The child is currently being ventilated at a local hospital, the complaint said.
