Hezbollah threatens retaliation if Israel attacks – Israel News

Amid rising tensions over Israel’s response to Hezbollah’s attack in Majdal Shams that could lead to a regional war, a senior Hezbollah official revealed key details about its plans for the Galilee in an interview with Al Jazeera on Monday.

According to the report, Hezbollah has promised to respond to any Israeli attack, regardless of its intensity.

“International parties have asked us not to respond to the expected aggression – we have informed them that we reject this request,” the official said. “We are capable of heavily and devastatingly bombing military facilities in Haifa, the Golan Heights and Ramat David.”

“We will definitely respond to any Israeli attack. Hezbollah’s leadership will determine the form and intensity of our response to any possible aggression,” he added.

The official also said: “The representatives informed us about their contacts with the enemy in order to minimize human losses, but we do not trust our enemy. Israel’s conditions for heavy or limited attacks do not concern us at all – it is aggression, regardless of its intensity. We take Israeli threats seriously and are fully prepared for the matter.”

Efforts to limit Israeli retaliation

“The Americans’ adoption of the hostile narrative did not surprise us. A ground invasion of Lebanon would be an incentive to set foot in Galilee,” the official added.

Senior American diplomats told Reuters on Monday that efforts were underway to limit Israel’s response to the Majdal Shams massacre in which 12 children were killed. “We are trying to prevent attacks on Beirut and its suburbs,” they said.

Earlier, a Lebanese official told Saudi broadcaster Al-Hadath on Tuesday that Lebanon had received news of the impending Israeli military strike, which was described as “inevitable.”

Lebanon has asked mediators to work to limit the attack and ensure that Israel does not attack Beirut or densely populated areas.
