A few more storms today, tropics in sight – Action News Jax

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Action News Jax’s First Alert Weather Team is tracking several more storms today and monitoring the tropics.

First Alert meteorologist Trevor Gibbs says roads are wet this Tuesday morning and some areas may experience reduced visibility and fog due to overnight rain.

As the day progresses, temperatures will rise to 35 to 40 degrees Celsius, with the perceived temperature being between 38 and 40 degrees Celsius.

Gibbs says some showers and thunderstorms are likely later this afternoon and evening, with isolated heavy rain, gusty winds and lightning.

The rest of the week will remain hot and humid with daily showers and storms.

As for the tropics, a disturbance over the Mid-Atlantic remains weak and disorganized this morning. The potential for long-term tropical development increases as it approaches the Bahamas by Friday and near Florida over the weekend.

The exact path of the possible storm is currently not certain, especially since no storm has formed yet.
