Software engineer raped by friends who invited her to celebrate her new job; married woman sexually harassed on bus

Two separate cases of sexual harassment occurred in Telangana. One was the rape of a software engineer by her friends who she had invited to celebrate her new job, and the other was the harassment of a married woman in a bus she was travelling in.

The software engineer told police that she was at a bar with her childhood friend Gautham Reddy and a mutual friend to celebrate her new job. NDTV.

The incident took place in Hyderabad on Monday and the police inspector told the publication that the trio went to the bar and restaurant of a hotel. After getting drunk, the two men took her to a room in the hotel and raped her there. Reddy had studied with the girl from second to tenth grade, the publication reported.

In another case, the married woman was traveling in a private bus when she was sexually harassed by the driver. NDTV reported her statement to the police.

In the horrific incident, which occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning, he is said to have stuffed a cloth into her mouth.

The police inspector told the newspaper that the driver had fled when he heard that the woman had complained to the police. However, the bus was stopped by the police as it entered Hyderabad city and the other driver, Seshaiah, was taken into custody.
