7-Eleven employee in Wilmington stole cash and replaced it with counterfeit money, officials say – NBC10 Philadelphia

A 7-Eleven employee in Wilmington, Delaware, was arrested after police said he stole more than $10,000 from the store and replaced it with counterfeit bills.

According to police, Christopher Crouch, 37, of Wilmington, was arrested on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, after turning himself in on charges of theft in connection with an incident that authorities say occurred earlier this month.

Officials said that on July 17, 2024, an officer responded to a report of theft at a 7-Eleven in the 4800 block of Governor Printz Boulevard in Wilmington.

The investigation into the incident uncovered evidence supporting suspicions that a store employee – police believe this to be Crouch – stole $10,000 from the store’s safe on July 7, 2024, and replaced it with approximately 33 counterfeit $100 bills before leaving the store with the real money.

Authorities said Crouch’s case was processed and he was released after posting $500 bail.
