Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks opens new restaurant in downtown Atlanta after closing flagship restaurant – WSB-TV Channel 2

ATLANTA — A popular metro establishment is opening a new location in downtown Atlanta.

Weeks after announcing the permanent closure of the Forsyth Street restaurant, Big Dave’s Cheesesteaks CEO and founder Derrick Hayes Sr. announced Tuesday that the business will relocate to nearby Marietta Street.

Hayes cited Atlanta’s recent water crisis as the reason the flagship Forsyth location had to close.

Hayes announced the news on his Instagram account on Monday. In his post, Hayes noted that he had driven by the location, which used to be a Waffle House, and thought it would be a perfect spot.
