Three people have been arrested and two others are wanted in connection with the slaying of Florida rapper Julio Foolio last month, authorities said.

The 26-year-old victim, whose real name was Charles Jones, died on June 23 when his vehicle came under fire in the parking lot of a Tampa hotel.

Surveillance footage from the hotel released by police shows the attackers, dressed in black and wearing masks, taking up positions in the parking lot and opening fire with two semi-automatic rifles and a pistol.

The rapper was killed during a weekend of birthday events that he had previously announced on social media.

Isaiah Chance (21), Alicia Andrews (21) and Sean Gathright (18) were arrested over the weekend and face murder charges, police said.

Two other people, 27-year-old Davion Murphy and 30-year-old Rashad Murphy, face similar charges, but they have not yet been found and arrested.

Three other people were injured but survived the attack, Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw said at a press conference on Monday.

In addition to the hotel’s video surveillance footage, investigators also used license plate readers and phone logs to identify the suspects.

The attackers are said to have been members of two different gangs – ATK and Twelve Hundred – who coordinated the attack.

Jones was a member of the Six Block Gang, Chief Bercaw said.

In the hours before his death, the rapper had posted footage of his birthday celebrations on Instagram and wrote that the police had “shut us down.”

Rapper Foolio has nearly a million monthly listeners on Spotify, where his most played track is “Voo Doo.”

In April, he wrote in an Instagram post that the past few months had been “tragic” and spoke of “several attempts on my life.”

According to local media, he spoke openly about his gang membership.
