One dead in protests against controversial elections in Venezuela: NGO

The protests that broke out on Monday after the controversial elections in Venezuela have resulted in a fatality for the first time, a non-governmental organization reported.

Alfredo Romero, president of a human rights group called Foro Penal that specializes in the concerns of political prisoners, told Platform X that one person had died and 46 others had been arrested during post-election demonstrations in the northwestern state of Yaracuy.
