Sources also say he will bring his vice presidential pick, J.D. Vance, with him, although there is no indication yet where in the state he will travel.

Several sources have confirmed Richard Elliot of Channel 2 Harris will speak at the Georgia State Convocation Center on Tuesday afternoon.

Harris has made several stops in Georgia in recent years, including four years ago when she participated in the Democratic presidential debate at Tyler Perry Studios.

But it will be her first visit since President Joe Biden stepped down and she became the presumptive nominee.

“This is a very unusual election, no exaggeration,” said WSB political analyst Bill Crane.

Even with the vice president’s visit, Crane doesn’t think Georgia is really in play.

Most polls show Trump leading.

But he sees the visit as an opportunity for Harris to energize the Democratic Party’s base nationally, particularly among black voters.

“So if you’re in Washington, D.C., and you want to attract a large audience, potentially national media and a lot of African-American men, is there a better place to go than Atlanta? I don’t think there is,” Crane said.

As for Trump, Crane said: “I think it’s as important as anything. When you go after former President Trump, he wants to talk back.”
