‘Out of character’: Family believes 12-year-old Houston girl may have been lured away from home by man

HOUSTON – The family of a 12-year-old girl believes she was lured to a hotel by an adult man before being possibly abducted early Monday.

“Around 4 o’clock this morning we realized she was gone,” said Dawnyale LittleJohn, speaking of her 12-year-old niece, Chloie Brewer.

Littlejohn said Chloie left her Houston home in her mother’s SUV and drove to the Crystal Inn and Suites on Little York in North Harris County.

“So we started sending a signal to his phone. We sent the signal to that location,” LittleJohn said.

LittleJohn said staff and investigators told the family that Chloie met a man at the hotel before leaving in her black 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe.

“He parked next to her, then he rented room 110, they went into the room together, then they left,” LittleJohn said.

Brewer has brown hair, brown eyes and is about five feet, eight inches tall and weighs 130 pounds.

“Her phone was left here, which 12-year-olds don’t normally leave, she’s got a chain on and a Rolex, a real Rolex, it’s not a fake, it’s a real one and a SpongeBob outfit, she had like a crop top and spandex bottoms,” Littlejohn said.

Chloie’s great-grandmother says time is of the essence and fears Chloie is in grave danger.

“It’s not her style for this to happen, so I feel like she got sucked into this situation,” Short said.

“We’re just scared to death, we’re just trying to hope and pray for the best,” said Chloie’s aunt, Shirley Jeffery.

Houston police working the case have not yet identified the man Chloie left with as a suspect. However, the family says a private investigator has confirmed the man is from Louisiana and that Chloie’s credit or debit card was used at a motel in Baton Rouge. Anyone with information is asked to call police immediately.
