First Alert Weather: It is gradually becoming dry across Western New York

ROCHESTER, NY — It’s been about a week since the Rochester area has seen any significant rainfall. Plus, the warm weather and sunshine are creating a higher evaporation rate. Officially, precipitation at the Rochester airport is more than an inch below normal for July, so most communities would welcome a little rain. Fortunately, there are indeed showers in News10NBC’s First Alert forecast. As a high pressure system moves off the East Coast, humidity will increase and rain will likely continue Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday noon.

Monday evening will see foggy or clear skies, with temperatures dropping to 18 degrees. Tuesday will start with foggy sunshine, but clouds will increase and there will be occasional showers and thunderstorms. Expect plenty of humidity with highs in the 30s. More showers and thunderstorms are possible on Wednesday morning, with partly sunny skies in the afternoon. Highs will be 28 degrees.
