Man arrested for stabbing in Calhoun County, victim in hospital

A suspect is in custody and a victim is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries following a stabbing in Hobson City, a city in Calhoun County. The deputy remained at the scene until first responders arrived. The man was transported to UAB Hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he is still being treated. Meanwhile, deputies remaining at the scene were able to locate a witness who identified Oshae Ball as the suspect. An APB was issued for Ball. Oxford police were able to arrest him shortly thereafter. The investigation revealed that Ball stabbed the man and he faces a charge of first-degree assault. Ball is currently in the Calhoun County Jail on $20,000 bail.

CALHOUN COUNTY, Alabama —

After a stabbing in Hobson City, a city in Calhoun County, a suspect is in custody and a victim is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office said the incident occurred Saturday evening in the 400 block of Church Street, where a deputy found a man lying in a pool of blood.

The officer administered first aid and found that the man had a stab wound to the chest. The officer remained at the scene until emergency responders arrived.

The man was taken to UAB Hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he is still being treated.

In the meantime, officers remaining on the scene were able to locate a witness who identified Oshae Ball as the suspect.

A BOLO was issued for Ball. Shortly thereafter, Oxford police were able to arrest him.

The investigation revealed that Ball had stabbed the man. He is being charged with first-degree assault.

Ball is currently in the Calhoun County Jail and bail is set at $20,000.
