Storm chances return on Tuesday, BIG heat coming this week

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – The summer heat is increasing as we approach the first weekend of August.

TUESDAY

The best chance for rain this week will be on Tuesday. No showers are expected, but scattered thunderstorms and downpours will develop during the afternoon. Rain chances are expected to end quickly after sunset on Tuesday. Afternoon highs will climb back into the upper 30s along the Grand Strand and lower 35s inland along the Waterway.

GREAT HEAT RETURN

The chance of rain will decrease for the rest of the week, while the humidity will increase. From Wednesday and throughout the weekend, it will be really humid. Afternoon temperatures will rise again to over 30 degrees, which will push the heat index well above 38 degrees.

Heat advisories are likely over the weekend as the heat continues to increase. The heat index will reach 110° at times on Friday and Saturday.
