Trump agrees to FBI questioning as part of assassination investigation

WASHINGTON-

The FBI has said that former US President Donald Trump has agreed to an interview as part of the investigation into the attempted assassination in Pennsylvania earlier this month, an official said on Monday.

The planned interview is part of the FBI’s standard protocol for speaking to victims of federal crimes as part of its investigations.

The FBI said on Friday that Trump was hit by a bullet or bullet fragments in the July 13 assassination attempt at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

The FBI announced the planned conversation with Trump as he revealed new details about the shooter, including internet research suggesting an interest in mass shootings and the attempted assassination of the Slovakian prime minister this year.
