Greensboro police investigate death of teenager on Haig Street

GREENSBORO, NC — On Sunday evening around 7:30 p.m., Greensboro Police were called to an unresponsive person in the 2900 block of Haig Street.

The caller told police that the person was not moving and had apparent gunshot wounds.

Officers located the victim, Jakala Marie Goode, 19, who was pronounced dead by emergency medical services. Police have notified Goode’s next of kin of her death.

According to police, this case is being investigated as a homicide; it is the 22nd of the year in Greensboro.
