» Two-vehicle accident in Clay County (July 26)

Spencer, IA (KICD)–The Clay County Sheriff’s Office has released information regarding a two-vehicle crash that occurred Friday afternoon at the intersection of Highway 10 and 110th Ave.

According to the release, 43-year-old Mark Baker of Ashton was driving a Dodge Ram pickup truck with a trailer westbound, followed by 73-year-old John Beeson, driving a Chevrolet Silverado towing a grain cart. Baker entered the eastbound lane in the no-passing zone as Beeson attempted to turn south onto 110th Avenue. Baker slammed on his brakes and clipped the driver’s side of the Chevy Silverado before driving into the southwest ditch and striking a sewer line. Beeson’s vehicle came to a stop westbound on Highway 10 in the eastbound lane just past the intersection.

No injuries were reported. Mark Baker was charged with driving on the wrong side of a two-lane highway.
