In a matter of days, France’s telecommunications infrastructure was damaged after attacks on the country’s rail network. Over the weekend, as the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games began in Paris, travel for 800,000 people was disrupted.

Normal train traffic on the French rail network had already resumed on Monday when authorities reported damage to the telecommunications infrastructure, leading to local power outages and raising the risk of further nationwide disruptions.
