I’M STEVEN GRAVES WITH YOUR NEWS. WE BEGIN ON THE TREASURE COAST. A SUSPECT IS DEAD AFTER A SHOOTING AT THE INDIAN RIVER COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE. THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE SAYS ONE OF THEIR DEPUTIES WAS INVOLVED IN IT. SOMEHOW THE DEPUTIES SAY IT HAPPENED LAST NIGHT AROUND 10:45. THE DETAILS ARE LIMITED BUT WE KNOW THE DEPUTIES WAS NOT INJURED AND THE CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS DIVISION IS CURRENTLY INVESTIGATING THIS. IN FORT PIERCE, POLICE SHOT AND KILLED A SUSPECT INVOLVED IN A BURGLARY ON HUTCHINSON ISLAND. THIS HAPPENED YESTERDAY MORNING ON BAYSHORE DRIVE. INVESTIGATORS SAY POLICE NOTICED THE DOOR WAS SLIGHTLY OPEN. THEY PUSHED THE DOOR OPEN AND TURNED OUT SEVERAL TIMES. THEY SAY A MAN APPEARED AND ALLEGEDLY POINTED A GUN AT HIM, FORCING THE OFFICERS TO SHOOT. ONE OFFICER WAS TREATED FOR A NON-LIFE THREATENING INJURY. TODAY IS THE BACK-TO-SCHOOL SALES TAX PARTY. THIS MEANS THAT CLOTHING AND SHOES THAT COST $100 OR LESS WILL NOT HAVE SALES TAX. MOST SCHOOL SUPPLIES THAT COST $50 OR LESS ARE ALSO TAX FREE. THE SAME GOES FOR COMPUTERS. ALSO TABLETS THAT SELL FOR $1,500 OR LESS. THE BACK-TO-SCHOOL SALES TAX COLLECTION RUNS THROUGH AUGUST 11, AND THE WPBF 25 SCHOOL SUPPLIES DRIVE STARTS TODAY IN BOYNTON BEACH. YOU CAN DROP OFF YOUR SUPPLIES BETWEEN 9 AM AND 6 PM AT THE FLORIDA BLUE CENTER ON NORTH CONGRESS AVENUE. FIRST WARNING METEOROLOGISTS SANDRA SHAW AND GLENN GLAZER WILL BE THERE. KIDS CAN ALSO GET FREE HAIRCUTS IF THEY SHOW UP. THIS IS ALL COURTESY OF TREASURE COAST BARBERS UNITED. GOOD MORNING EVERYONE. Jupiter police are preparing for their “National Night Out” parade. The statewide event is designed to strengthen relationships between police and community members. Jupiter Police prepare for their National Night Out parade.

The nationwide event aims to strengthen relationships between police and community members.

Jupiter police said the parade will begin at 6 p.m., which will also kick off the Little Smiles Christmas toy drive.
