UChicago issues alert after robbery in lobby of off-campus apartment building

CHICAGO – The University of Chicago issued a warning after a person was beaten and robbed in the lobby of an off-campus apartment building Sunday morning.

The incident occurred around 5:15 a.m. in an apartment in Harper between 51st and 52nd streets, according to the university.

A person was in the lobby when they were approached by three suspects, one of whom was armed with a handgun. Two of the suspects struck the person in the face and took their property.
