1 dead after vehicle collides with pole in Moraine – WHIO TV 7 and WHIO Radio

MORAINE – One person is dead following an accident in Moraine early Sunday morning.

At about 1:39 a.m., Moraine police and firefighters responded to Interstate 75 Southbound near Exit 50B for a report of a single-vehicle crash, according to a Moraine police spokesman.

When police arrived, they found a Honda Civic in a ditch between the Springboro Pike exit ramp and the interstate above.

The vehicle suffered severe damage to the front and driver’s side after hitting a power pole on the side of the road, the spokesman said.

The driver of the vehicle, a man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the accident is still being investigated, but it is suspected that alcohol played a role.

The driver has not yet been identified.
