13 Traffic Alert: 3 injured in a multi-vehicle accident on the North Sam Houston Tollway WB near Fairbanks North Houston

All lanes of the North Beltway are closed, and at last check, officers were allowing vehicles off the exit ramp due to congestion.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – A four-vehicle accident, including a tow truck driver, has closed all westbound lanes of the North Sam Houston Tollway at Fairbanks North Houston, near the Sam Houston Race Park.

One person was flown to Memorial Hermann Hospital by rescue helicopter. Two others were taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Helicopter reporter Don Armstrong reported live on SkyEye as officers rerouted drivers out of the traffic jam and guided them off the exit ramp just outside Fairbanks.

According to preliminary information, the driver of the tow truck was on the shoulder of the road changing a car’s tire when he was hit by another vehicle. A fourth car was also involved in the accident.

ABC13 is working to gather more information, but it is believed the crash will remain a mystery for some time.
