Shooting in Franklinton leaves one dead and one injured

One person was killed and another was injured in a shooting in Franklinton.

Columbus Police received a report of a shooting in the 300 block of South Glenwood Avenue at 1:43 a.m. Sunday. Officers found two victims with gunshot wounds.

Officers cared for the victims until the Columbus Fire Department arrived and paramedics pronounced 25-year-old Jacob Coons dead at 1:50 a.m.

The second victim was taken to a local hospital and is expected to survive. Police have not announced any arrests or said what sparked the shooting.
