Fitzgerald woman arrested in connection with death of four-year-old child

FITZGERALD – A Georgia woman was arrested by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation in connection with the death of a four-year-old child.

The GBI has arrested 30-year-old Kelsey Monaco of Fitzgerald, GA and charged her with child abuse and first-degree murder.

On Wednesday, July 24, 2024, Fitzgerald Police asked the GBI to investigate the death of a 4-year-old child. The child left his residence unattended and eventually got into a car. He was later found unconscious in the car. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Monaco was booked into the Ben Hill County Jail.
