Impact Day: Air Quality Alert

517. TODAY IS A DAY OF IMPACT FOR US. WE ARE DEALING WITH AN AIR QUALITY ALERT, CODE ORANGE ACTION DAY. POLLUTANTS CAN BE UNHEALTHY FOR SENSITIVE GROUPS, THIS AIR QUALITY ALERT APPLIES MOST TO BUTLER, BEAVER, ARMSTRONG. ALL OF ALLEGHENY, WASHINGTON, WESTERN PARTS OF WESTMORELAND, FAYETTE COUNTY, WHICH WILL GO INTO EFFECT THIS MORNING AT 9:00 AM AND REMAIN IN EFFECT UNTIL 8:00 PM TONIGHT. AGAIN WE ARE SEEING TEMPERATURES THAT ARE NOT TOO BAD FOR US THIS MORNING. YESTERDAY WAS HOT. We’re at nearly 92. It’s 67 when you wake up in Pittsburgh, 67, Monroeville 64. Greensburg 60. Clarion Franklin and Butler. Beaver woke up at 59. It’s pretty quiet to start with though. A little river valley fog is trying to develop but all in all nothing to worry about. We’re keeping an eye on those showers in Ohio and West Virginia but a lot of them are fizzled out as they try to get a little closer to our area. WE NEED THE RAIN AND THERE’S A CHANCE OF RAIN PRETTY MUCH EVERY DAY THIS WEEK BUT IT WON’T BE A NEXT RAIN AND NOT EVERYONE WILL GET TO KNOW THAT THE RAIN IS CONTINUING ALL WEEK. NOW. THE WARM FRONT WILL LIFT AND THE COLD FRONT WILL PASS THROUGH TOMORROW. TUESDAY LOOKS LIKE THE BEST DAY FOR SOME SPOKEN RAIN SHOWERS TO MOVE OFF. AND THEN WE’LL SEE ANOTHER DISTURBANCE. THEY’LL TRY TO WORK THEIR WAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY, AND EVEN INTO FRIDAY. HERE’S A SLIGHTLY CLOSER LOOK. IF WE MOVE ON TODAY, TWO 3:00 AM, WE’LL SEE SOME SPOKEN RAIN SHOWERS. THERE COULD BE SOME RUMBLE OF THUNDER. ALL OF IT SEEMS TO BE NOT HEAVY IN BEAVER, ALSO IN LAWRENCE, IN THE NORTHERN PARTS OF ALLEGHENY, BUTLER, AND ARMSTRONG COUNTY, AND THAT WILL EASE UP INTO THE EARLY EVENING. WE CANNOT RULE OUT A SPOTS OF RAIN. PRETTY CALM TODAY. PARTLY TO MOSTLY CLOUDY TO START TUESDAY. BUT THERE IS A CHANCE OF RAIN AGAIN AS THE COLD FRONT APPROACHES AROUND 4 OR 5 AM. A LOT OF IT WILL BE PARTICULARLY ALONG INTERSTATE 80. THERE COULD BE SOME RAIN SHOTS IN BEAVER COUNTY AROUND 5 AM, AND THEN THESE CELLS WILL TRY TO WORK THEIR WAY TO BUTLER, ALLEGHENY BETWEEN 6 AM AND 7 AM AND MOVE ON TO WESTMORELAND, INDIANA, CAMBRIA, AND SOMERSET. AROUND 9 AM AND 10 AM TUESDAY NIGHT. HEADING INTO WEDNESDAY. RELATIVELY CALM START, BUT STILL SLIGHT THUNDERSTORMS AND RAIN SHOTS. SOME OF THESE STORMS DEVELOPING ON WEDNESDAY COULD HAVE THE POTENTIAL FOR STRONGER GUSTS. THAT’S AS FAR AS 4 AM. BUT ALSO, REMEMBER THAT IT’S VERY ONE-TIME, VERY INDEPENDENT. FURTHER IN TIME, WHEN WE ARRIVE WEDNESDAY EVENING, THERE COULD BE SOME OF THESE STRONGER STORMS IN GREENE AND FAYETTE COUNTY. NOT MUCH RAIN EXPECTED TODAY. THEN WE’LL CONTINUE ON TUESDAY, ABOUT A QUARTER TO A HALF AN INCH IN SOME PLACES, ESPECIALLY TO THE NORTH. WHEN WE LOOK AT OUR DRYNESS MONITOR, WE’RE IN THE ABNORMAL AREA OF PITTSBURGH TO THE NORTH AND MODERATE TO HEAVY ALONG INTERSTATE 70 TO THE SOUTH AND EAST. SO WE NEED RAIN, SOME RAIN AND STORMS TODAY. AIR QUALITY ALERT IS HAVING IMPACT. DAY 84 FOR HIGHS 70. TONIGHT WE HAVE THE CHANCE FOR SOME OF THESE DESPERATE STORMS INTO THE EARLY EVENING, WITH SOME FLAT FOG DEVELOPING. LATE TONIGHT WHEN WE LOOK AT YOUR FORECAST FOR FOUR DAYS AND FOUR MORE. WE DON’T REALLY HAVE MUCH RELIEF WITH THE HEAT EITHER, BUT IT’S NOT GOING TO BE A FAST WEATHER EVERY DAY. BUT EVERY DAY WE HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY FOR SOME RAIN. WE NEED THE RAIN FOR SOME WAY, EVEN IF WE’RE WATCHING FOR A
