Teenager arrested after stolen vehicles nearly hit police officers

ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) — A teenager was arrested after he was nearly hit by stolen cars in Nellis Park Monday morning, according to Rochester police.

According to RPD, officers found and recovered a stolen vehicle in Nellis Park. They said two other stolen vehicles drove toward officers at a high rate of speed. Officers were able to evade the vehicles.


One of the vehicles crashed into an unoccupied tow truck. Two passengers got out and ran away. The two suspects got into the third vehicle and drove away.

The vehicle stopped on Flint Street and all four passengers ran away. The driver, a 16-year-old boy, was arrested. Neither officers nor civilians were injured.

The suspect was charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, issued a summons, and returned to his family.
