First warning on Monday due to possible heavy rain and storms

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) – The new week begins with an initial warning as storm chances are added back into the forecast.

After a beautiful weekend, wet weather is possible across the Charlotte area on Monday, with some storms and heavy downpours. Morning showers could impact commutes. Highs will reach the low 27 degrees under mostly cloudy skies.

Isolated thunderstorms are expected on Tuesday, but the probability is significantly lower than on Monday. More sunshine is expected as highs reach 30 degrees.

Temperatures will rise during the second half of the work week, with highs expected to be between 35 and 40 degrees on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. There is a slight chance of isolated thunderstorms on Wednesday and Friday.

The coming weekend will remain warmer with highs forecast between 35 and 35 degrees. There is about a 50% chance of afternoon/evening thunderstorms on both days.
