Eight women sexually harassed by cyclist in Greenwich

Eddwin Cortes-Pinerez, 39, of Mitcham Lane in Streatham, is accused of sexual touching in connection with eight incidents between July 3 and 24.

Women have reported being approached by a man on a bicycle and touched over their clothing.

The incidents are said to have occurred in Aldeburgh Street, Vanbrugh Hill, Halstow Road, Roan Street, Stratheden Road, Greenwich South Street, Oldfield Grove and Moorhead Way.

Cortes-Pinerez will appear in custody at Bromley Magistrates Court on Monday (July 29).

Assistant Detective Sergeant Chris Handscombe, part of a team of detectives investigating serious and complex cases in south-east London, said: “The Metropolitan Police has an action plan to tackle violence against women and girls. The whole force is committed to doing much more to identify and tackle the most dangerous and prolific offenders.”

“I urge all victims to come forward and speak to the police. They will be listened to and supported.”

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said investigations are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting reference CAD 4297/28JUL24.
