Spacestation Wins HCS Atlanta Major With Almost No Map Losses

The space station has dominated the entire HCS Atlanta Major, earning a memorable victory and decimating all competitors while losing only two cards during the Tournament. On a grand stage at the Gateway Center Arena, the best teams in HCS battled it out for a $250,000 prize, but it was Spacestation that outshone the competition, advancing to the grand finals and outplaying OpTic Gaming to claim the $100,000 prize.

Like never before

Spacestation has quickly become one of the best Halo teams of all time – this past weekend proved it. Earlier this year, the team held on at the Arlington Major and beat OpTic in the Grand Finals to take home another $100,000 prize – since then, the team has also won a few Opens. This latest win was huge, and Spacestation was in a state of flux as they finished the Grand Finals against OpTic once again.

Special congratulations must go to SSG’s Bound and StelluR: these players found their feet with burning momentum in the final series.

The loss came as a shock to OpTic Gaming fans around the world. In the group stage, OpTic had the same record as SSG, but a loss to Shopify in the Champions Bracket pushed Team Green into the losers’ race. From there, the team eliminated FaZe and Pure, and got their revenge against Shopify, coming into the GF with immense energy.

It just wasn’t enough to defeat SSG, who had already made it through the upper bracket of the Champs at that point without dropping a single map.

Now all eyes turn to the Salt Lake City Major, which will take place next month in Utah.
