Man from Lyon arrested for assault and beer theft from an elderly man

Marquest Horton, 21, of Lyons was arrested Wednesday following an investigation into a disturbance in Lyons, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reported. Horton is charged with second-degree assault and petty theft.

Authorities allege Horton attacked a man over 65 years old, punching him and knocking him to the ground, causing him to suffer physical injuries. Horton then allegedly stole a case of beer from the victim.

Horton was taken to the Wayne County Jail and arraigned in CAP Court. He is scheduled to appear in Lyons Municipal Court. The New York State Police assisted in the investigation.
