Shooting in parking lot of Walmart on Killian Road under investigation

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC — One person was hospitalized Sunday evening after being shot in a Walmart parking lot in Richland County, according to authorities.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Office said officers were called to the Walmart Supercenter on Killian Road between 8:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. and found a male victim with a gunshot wound to the forearm. A spokesperson said the victim was taken to an area hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

Officials are still searching for the suspect in the shooting and have not released any details about the events surrounding the shooting while their investigation continues.
