Police investigate series of “Hot Prowl” break-ins in East Hollywood and Silver Lake

Police are investigating a series of home invasions that occurred Saturday in East Hollywood and Silver Lake, one of which ended with the sexual assault of a female victim.

The “hot prowl” burglaries, which typically occur when victims are still at home, occurred early Saturday, according to Los Angeles Police Department investigators.

Although there is little information available about the incidents, police are urging the public to remain vigilant.

“Residents are asked to turn on all outdoor lights, lock all windows and doors and be alert for suspicious people or vehicles,” said a statement released on Saturday.
