Suspect in fatal Northgate shooting turns himself in, Sacramento police say

SACRAMENTO – A suspect turned himself in after a woman was found dead in a home in Sacramento’s Northgate neighborhood earlier this month, police said Sunday.

On July 8 at around 10 a.m., police responded to a 911 call from a home on Northstead Drive. A woman was found with a gunshot wound and died at the scene.

Police said detectives identified Urberto Dotson, 51, of Sacramento, as the suspect. They said Dotson turned himself in to detectives on Sunday and was booked into jail on murder charges.
