WEATHER WARNING DAY: Another round of afternoon storms ahead of a perfect weekend

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – Most of yesterday’s activity took place in the morning, so once the first storms passed by 8 a.m. there wasn’t much to see other than light showers in the early afternoon. No nearby thunderstorms along the Grand Strand, so there was no rain delay at the Myrtle Beach Classic yesterday.

Another round of isolated strong to severe thunderstorms is planned for this afternoon as a cold front moves through. Timing for the Pee Dee is between 3pm and 5pm and then along the Grand Strand between 5pm and 8pm. The chance of tornadoes is very low and the dire outlook is similar to yesterday, with a strong chance of hail up to 15%.

Highs are in the low to mid 80s. Temperatures will cool in rainy areas. Partly cloudy and temperatures dropping into the mid to upper 50s!

This front is a real eye-catcher in terms of temperature and will ensure drier, more pleasant air for Saturday and Mother’s Day. The air will be extremely pleasant. Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 70s tomorrow and in the upper 70s to 80s Sunday and Monday.

It will be mostly sunny on Monday, with clouds increasing on Monday night. There will be widespread rain on Tuesday.
