Knoxville police investigate shooting in Inskip

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) – A woman was hospitalized early Sunday morning following a shooting in the Inskip neighborhood.

Officers responded to the 4700 block of Romeo Way just before 4 a.m. Sunday where a 20-year-old woman had been shot in the lower body. The suspect left the scene before officers arrived.

She was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

According to investigators, the suspect appears to be a thin black man who was wearing dark clothing and disappeared from the scene in an unidentified dark car.

The investigations are still ongoing.
