Candace Owens calls LGBTQ+ people a ‘sexual scourge’ in a predictably hateful tirade

Right-wing political commentator Candace Owens has once again proven herself to be a terrible human being by going on a homophobic, transphobic tirade on social media, calling LGBTQ+ people a “sexual scourge” – and surprising no one.

On Thursday, January 4, the 34-year-old Republican took to X (formerly Twitter) to blame mass shootings at schools on “the pharmaceutical industry and its clinical promotion of insanity,” in a chilling reference to gender-affirming health care.

“I have no interest in getting into another discussion about a school shooting that doesn’t begin and end with a discussion about the pharmaceutical industry and its clinical promotion of insanity,” she wrote. “We drug children en masse and conduct psychiatric experiments on them in classrooms across America.”

That’s right, because puberty blockers are to blame for mass violence and not, I don’t know, America’s gun problem.

Then Owens didn’t let up and spread even more hate about the queer community. “Gender dysphoria is a mental disorder and the entire LGBTQ movement has brought a sexual plague upon our society,” she posted.

Transsexual journalist Erin Reed rightly pointed out in her contribution to X that Owens, who hosts a conservative talk show on The Daily Wire“jumps straight into the language of genocide” Queer reports.

This isn’t the first time Owens has spewed hateful garbage. Just last year, she was demonetized by YouTube for intentionally misgendering transgender people, and in October, she claimed in an interview in the UK that transgender rights would lead to pedophilia. This isn’t even the first time she has blamed the trans community for a school shooting. After six people were killed at Nashville’s Covenant School, she blamed the shooter’s trans identity and “pharmaceutical drugs” for the loss of life, reported The lawyer.
