1 dead and 1 injured after shooting during family dispute in Chino

Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred late Saturday night in Chino.

They were dispatched to the 3900 block of Pepper Tree Lane around 9 p.m. after learning of a shooting at a home in the area, a Chino police statement said.

When they arrived, officers found two men with gunshot wounds.

One of the two was taken to a nearby hospital, where he is said to be in stable condition after emergency surgery, according to the police statement.

The second victim, whose identity has not yet been established, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police arrested the suspect, identified as 37-year-old Wenhua Lee, at his home.

“Initial investigations indicate that the shooting followed a family dispute between the suspect and his family members,” the statement said.

Lee was charged with murder and attempted murder.
