1 dead after car goes off road in Sand Canyon area

One person died Sunday after driving off the side of the road in the San Canyon area.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, it happened around 1 p.m. near Little Tujunga Canyon Road and the Santa Clara Truck Trail.

Officers from the department’s Special Enforcement Bureau arrived at the scene and found one person dead. They did not provide a cause of death.

The victim has not yet been identified.

Since the car was several hundred meters down the steep cliff, a lifting operation was carried out to recover the victim’s body.

No further information was provided.
