Rockland man arrested for drug trafficking and theft

ROCKLAND – A 49-year-old man with ties to Rockland was arrested last week by Bangor police on several warrants, including one for aggravated drug trafficking out of Rockland.

David Carver, who previously lived in Rockland, faces multiple drug charges in Knox, Lincoln and Penobscot counties and his involvement in a multi-jurisdictional theft ring.

The arrest followed a comprehensive investigation that began in 2023 after numerous local thefts, including stolen vehicles and trailers, were reported.

The Rockland Police Department’s investigation into Carver was part of a collaborative effort with detectives from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office (Maine), Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office and other jurisdictions.

The investigation included several search warrants executed in both Rockland and Penobscot Counties.

Over the past year, several people associated with Carver have been arrested and charged locally in connection with the thefts.

The Rockland Police Department thanked the Bangor, Maine, Knox SO, Lincoln SO, Penobscot SO and Damariscotta Police Department for their assistance and contribution to the successful outcome of these cases.
