2 people arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol during a driver’s license check in Redding | Crime

REDDING, California. – Two people were arrested for drunk driving during a drunk driving stop and a driver’s license check in Redding, police said.

On Friday, Redding Police conducted a checkpoint in the 500 block of North Market Street between 6 and 11 p.m.

Over 1,031 cars passed through the airport and two people were arrested.

Austin Pryde was contacted during the stop and arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Jonathan Kidwell was also arrested for driving under the influence. Kidwell’s blood alcohol level was three times over the legal limit of 0.08%.

Over the past 10 years, Kidwell has been arrested seven times for drunk driving and convicted three times. He was booked into the Shasta County Jail on drunk driving charges.
