Man dies after accident on SLE involving two cars and a motorcycle

SINGAPORE – A man died in an accident involving two cars and a motorcycle on the Seletar Expressway (SLE) in the early hours of July 28.

Police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they were informed of the accident on the SLE towards Bukit Timah Expressway before the Lentor Avenue exit at around 2am.

A 35-year-old car driver was pronounced dead at the scene by an SCDF paramedic and a 31-year-old motorcyclist was conscious when taken to hospital, police said.

Police added that a 32-year-old driver was assisting with the ongoing investigation.

A video of the aftermath of the accident on the Facebook page Singapore Roads Accident.com shows the two right lanes of a four-lane road blocked off by emergency vehicles.

In the right lane, between the vehicles, including at least one police car, three police cars and three police motorcycles, there is a blue police tent.

In the first four months of 2024, 54 people died in traffic accidents.

In 2023, 136 people died in road accidents, an increase of 25.9 percent from the 108 deaths in 2022.
