BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Griffon Gastropub will close its Transit Road location in August, it announced on social media.

The location will close on August 11. The owners said their lease on the building was not being honored following the sale of the building, despite what they called “ambitious plans,” including exterior improvements and an outdoor patio.

The social media post also states that they hope to open a new location in the area soon. The location has been open for 10 years.

“We are so grateful to our Clarence customers and sincerely hope to have the opportunity to reopen a Griffon Gastropub in the area,” they said. “This is a difficult situation for any restaurant owner, and the impact on our customers and dedicated staff is what saddens us the most. It’s a tough industry, and while restaurant closures are common, this one is especially difficult as our Clarence restaurant was on the verge of a new chapter of growth.”

Gift cards can be used at any other location.
