Woman, 65, killed in hit-and-run crash in southwest Chicago suburbs

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. (CBS)— A 65-year-old woman was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Downers Grove Thursday evening.

According to police, the woman was found on the street in the 600 block of Ogden Avenue just after 9 p.m.

Preliminary investigation into the accident revealed that the victim was crossing the street when he was struck by a dark-colored, small to mid-size Honda or Acura SUV that was traveling west on Ogden.

Downers Grove Police and the DuPage MERIT Major Crash Reconstruction Team are investigating the accident. The victim’s identity is being withheld until family members are notified.
