City police search for suspect in South Nashville shooting

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) – City police are searching for the gunman in a fatal shooting Saturday morning in South Nashville.

Marcus Martin, 41, was shot in his car before sunrise on the way home from his girlfriend’s house.

City police said he was shot at the Whispering Oaks Apartments on Tanglewood Court, near Harding Place.

He was driving his Nissan Altima when he was shot. The car hit a tree and came to a stop in a parking lot. Shortly before 8 a.m., a local resident called to report the accident.
