Buffalo Bill Brawl opens first day of fights Saturday at D&N Event Center

The first day of the Buffalo Bill Brawl, Nebraska’s largest boxing tournament, saw a few knockouts and some back-and-forth fights during its two sessions at the D&N Event Center on Saturday.

“The show is going great,” said Brad Garrick, owner of Legion Combat Sports and a North Platte city councilman. “The fans are great. The fights have been great. Everything is going great.”

Garrick said the event ended with 36 fights over two days. He added that a few teams had to drop out because they couldn’t make it to North Platte.

The day began with a session at noon and ended with a session at 5 p.m., where several fights took place in different age and weight categories.

Saturday’s fights were broadcast live, with thousands watching.

“There’s definitely a demand for this stuff,” Garrick said. “Everybody loves to see someone get punched in the face.”
