Falcons hold first practice at metropolitan high school since 2016 – WSB-TV Channel 2

BUFORD, Ga. — The Atlanta Falcons held a free, open-to-fans practice in Gwinnett County on Saturday night.

The practice took place under the lights in front of thousands of fans at Seckinger High School in Buford.

It was the first time the team practiced at a metro Atlanta high school since 2016.

Atlanta opened training camp Thursday at its Hall County training facility.

Saturday was the first chance for Falcons fans to see new starting quarterback Kirk Cousins ​​and the No. 8 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, quarterback Michael Penix Jr.

Cousins ​​signed with the Falcons this offseason after six seasons with the Minnesota Vikings.

Falcons fans will have another chance to watch the team practice before the season opener Friday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium for $5. Proceeds from the game will benefit Emory Healthcare’s medical programs and treatment services, the team said.

The Falcons will begin their preseason schedule on August 9 against the Miami Dolphins.
