Suspect arrested for dumping used oil into sewer | Texas

Houston, Texas — A man was arrested after authorities said he poured used oil into a sewer in Harris County.

On July 19, 2024, a sergeant with Constable Mark Herman’s office while on patrol noticed oil on the ground leading to a sewer in the 23900 block of Spring Briar Lane. Further investigation revealed that Ramiro Valdez (age not provided) of Houston, Texas was responsible for the unauthorized discharge.

“Ramiro Valdez was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail on charges of illegal discharge of water resulting in contamination. His bail was set at $2,500.00 in the 248th District Court,” said Officer Mark Herman.
